Betty Burton Obituary
Betty J. Burton, 88, of Monticello, passed away at 8:43 p.m., on January 9, 2012 at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello with Pastor Darrell D. Seest officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.
Betty was born January 27, 1923, in Cisco, the daughter of Harry and Grace (Jimerson) White. She married Robert D. Burton on June 4, 1950 in Cisco. He passed away July 6, 1998.
Surviving are her daughters; Carol (Richard) Floyd of White Heath, Diantha (Paul) Hanna of Greer, SC, and Tammy Burton of Mtn. View, CA, her son; Mark (Annabel) Burton of Monticello, 3 grandsons; Brandon and Shane Burton, and Luke Hanna, 1 granddaughter; Carrie Hanna, and 1 step-granddaughter; Michelle Floyd. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Betty was a housewife and worked as a Nurses Aide for 12 years at Kirby Hospital, Monticello. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monticello.
Memorials may be made to the family.
