Betty Anderson Obituary

Betty Joanne Foley Anderson, 58, of Monticello, formerly of Ft. Collins, CO and Missoula, MT, died Jan. 1, 2009, at Kirby Hospital, Monticello.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009 with funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, 215 E. Washington St., Monticello. Pastor Mike Eischen of Monticello United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Ingram Cemetery, White Heath.
Betty was born on July 22, 1950 in Monticello, the daughter of Stanley and Bessie Brown Foley. Her mother preceded her in death.
She is survived by her father, Stan Foley of Monticello; one sister, Sue (Dan) Coates of LeRoy; three brothers, Ed (Sue) Foley of Delano, MN, Jim (Dianne) Foley of Gibson City, and John (Donna) Foley of Monticello; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was a 1968 graduate of Monticello High School and earned a B.S. in Sociology from Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, IL, where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Betty worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 28 years during which time she was recognized throughout the nation as a valuable resource for timber sales accounting. She spent 12 years in the Missoula, MT office, prior to accepting a promotion to the Ft. Collins, CO office. She enjoyed playing the accordion since childhood. She exhibited exceptional courage while maintaining her great sense of humor throughout her battle with cancer. Betty was a devoted and dear aunt to her nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
