Barbara Joan Carr

Barbara Joan Carr, 78, of Monticello, passed away at 2:15 p.m., on July 6, 2012 at Carle Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Monticello United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Whitaker officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Private family interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.
Joan was born September 21, 1933 in Champaign County, IL the daughter of Barney and Hazel Leona (Blagg) Schroeder. She married Robert Carr on June 23, 1951 in Urbana.
Surviving are her husband; Robert Carr of Monticello, children; Rick (Gina)Carr of Paxton, Jill (Tim) Pankau of Monticello, Steve (Chris) Carr of Monticello, and Rob (Sundus) Carr of Tanzania, Africa, grandchildren; Mendal Harms, Ryan Pankau, Kelli Parsons, Amber Eubanks, Lianne Virenius, Dillon and Cameron Brown, Robert, Jenna, and Sarah Carr, great grandchild; Sawyer Mcleese Pankau, brothers; Jack (Wanda) Schroeder of Rockford and Jerry (Pat) Schroeder of Victorville, CA, sister; Janet (John) Fossum of Corona del Mar, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son (Gregory Lee Carr).
Joan was devoted to her family and church. She enjoyed golfing and the Cubs. Joan was an active member of the Monticello United Methodist Church and she volunteered at Kirby Auxiliary.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
