Amanda Bone-Winters, 50 of Dewey, Il., passed away on January 28, 2026 after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.
Amanda was born on September 29, 1975 to Darrel and Paula Bone in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
In the year 2000 she moved to Dewey, Il to be with her husband Jeff Winters whom she married in 2003. Amanda and Jeff went on to have 1 child, Ainsley Winters.
Amanda was a dedicated educator at Judah Christian School, where she cared deeply for and loved the preschoolers—her “littles”—with whom she worked. She later transitioned to the role of bookkeeper, continuing to work faithfully throughout her diagnosis. Amanda enjoyed watching her daughter play golf, returning home to New Mexico to visit family and satisfy her love for red and green chile, and snuggling with her precious dog, Stella, who loved her dearly.
Amanda is survived by her husband, Jeff Winters, and daughter, Ainsley; her parents, Darrel and Paula Bone; her in-laws, Larry and Sylvia Winters; her sister, Megan (Bruce) Wylie, and their daughter, Lilly; her brother, Travis (Audrey) Bone, and their son, Thaden; and sister-in law Wendy (Paul) Luna and her sons, Bradley and Brandon Clemmons and daughters Brooke Clemmons and Lauren Luna.
A celebration of Amanda’s life will be held on March 28th from 2-5 pm at Papa Del's Pizza Factory, 1201 S. Neil St, Champaign.
