Alzada Redshaw Obituary

Alzada E. Redshaw, 87, of Monticello, passed away at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello with Pastor Micah Garnett officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.
Alzada was born January 10, 1925, in Beardstown, IL, the daughter of Jessie James and Bessie (Tucker) Elmore. She married Stanley G. Redshaw on May 10, 1947 in Beardstown, IL.
Surviving is her husband; Stanley G. Redshaw of Monticello, sons; Martin (Kerry) Redshaw of Monticello, Mike (Mary) Redshaw of St. Leonard, MD and Matthew Redshaw of Monticello, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brothers; Jessie Elmore of Adington, Leonard Elmore of Beardstown, Don Elmore of Tucson, AZ, and Burl Elmore of Port Richie, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Alzada worked as a Registered Nurse at Kirby Hospital, Monticello from 1958-1973 and was Director of Nursing at the Piatt County Nursing Home from 1973 until her retirement in 1986. Alzada was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Monticello and the Kirby Hospital Auxiliary. Alzada graduated from Beardstown High School and Saint Francis School of Nursing in Peoria. She enjoyed her gardening and her variety of pets. Alzada was very proud to be an RN and not only loved but was well respected by all the nursing staff she worked with over the years.
Memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home.
