Alonzo Arnold, Jr.

Alonzo Arnold, Jr., 86, of Bondville, passed away on August 6, 2012 at his residence.
Alonzo was born on August 29, 1925 in Bradford, TN, the son of Floyd Alonzo and Ollie B. (Houston) Arnold. He married Geraldine H. Jimkoski on December 26, 1959 in Mattoon, IL.
Surviving are his wife; Geraldine Arnold of Bondville, children; Anthony James Arnold (Gina) of Bondville, James Robert Arnold (Mendy) of St. Albertsville, MN, John Leonard Arnold (Julie) of Mahomet, Alonda Anne Stites (Mark) of Champaign, Teresa Lynne Smith (Dale) of Mahomet, and Jennifer Rhea Poteet (Jason) of Brashear, TX, grandchildren; Ryan Arnold (Brandi), Rodney Arnold (Jessica), Michelle Stites-Merz (Tim), Amanda Arnold, Marissa (Arnold) Lamb (Jeremy), Matthew Stites (Megan), Andrew Arnold, Blake Arnold (Missy), Brandon Arnold, Kimberly Smith, Morgan Stites, Courtney Smith (Scott), Tyler Strohl, Kaleigh Poteet, Wyatt Poteet, great grandchildren; Andre Grace Jr., Kira Smith, Taylar Jacquneaux, Chase Jacquneaux, Teagan Marz, Savannah Arnold, Eric Arnold, Emma Arnold, Carter Lamb, Kellan Lamb, and Waylon Arnold. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 1 brother (Henry Arnold), 2 sisters (Frances Keel and Mary Anne Carter), and 1 grandson (Timothy Smith).
Alonzo was atruck driver, terminal manager for Maurice Transports and an assembler at Wal-Mart. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a member of the Deland Legion Post, Past volunteer fireman for the Bondville Fire Department, and treasurer for the Bondville Village Board for 11 years.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2012, at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Seymour. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello. Interment will be at a later date.
