Alice Kirkwood Obituary
Alice L. Kirkwood, 82, of Monticello, passed away at 5:05 p.m., on April 19, 2012 at the Kirby Medical Center, Monticello.
Private family services will be held with Mackey-Wright Funeral Home handling the arrangements. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.
Alice was born March 4, 1930, in Lebanon, IN, the daughter of Lawrence and Garnette (Culley) Turner. She married Don Kirkwood on March 10, 1961 in Champaign, IL.
Surviving are her husband; Don Kirkwood of Monticello, daughter; Cheryl Smith of Oakwood, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister (Frances Pierce).
Alice was a housewife along with working as a clerk for Raycraft Drugs and the Pepsin Plant. She also worked in the kitchens for the Monticello Grade School, Allerton Park, and Neals Bakery. She was treasurer for the Senior Citizens Bus, a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, loved crocheting, cooking, reading, shopping and was active in AARP and the Senior Citizens Organization.
Memorials may be made to Monticello Faith in Action.
