Alice Louise Lamb Jones, 85, of Monticello, died at 1:50 AM, May 13, 2010 at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Maroon officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.
Alice Louise was born March 13, 1925 in Yale, IL the daughter of Fred and Irene (Burger) Lamb. She married Otis Clark Jones on August 19, 1944 in Urbana. He died December 15, 1997.
Survivors include her daughter; Marquita Irene (Joe) Miller of Monticello, 3 granddaughters; Kimberly (Brian) Chupp, Jennifer (Todd) Smith, and Kelly (Tim) Burton, 1 grandson; Joe (Mary) Miller, 5 great grandchildren, sisters; Wanda Gorman of Dublin, OH and Pat Ray of Wheaton, brother; Gene Lamb of Champaign, nieces; Sarah (George) Rouse, Libby (Larry) Lucas, Katie (Bill) Heinz, and Rachael (Christopher) Schnepferman, Julie (Jody) Hurt, nephews; Joe (Shelia) Lamb and Gary Gorman. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Alice Louise was former owner/operator of The Village Boutique in Mahomet, delivered autos for Bill Abbotts, Inc., and was a housewife. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Women's Bowling Association. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, cooking, gardening, sewing, and traveling.
Memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home Halcyon Unit.
