Thomas C Wintjen

Thomas C. Wintjen, 31, of Rantoul died on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. 

There will be a graveside funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Danville National Cemetery, Danville, IL on Friday, June 29, where military rites will be accorded. 

Thomas was born on Jan. 27, 1987 in Hot Springs, AR to Tom and Blanche (Hall) Wintjen. He graduated from Lincoln's Challenge, Rantoul in 2004 and then enlisted in the Army, where he was sent to Iraq. He married Samantha Carlson on July 19, 2012. She survives as well as his 5 children; Elijah, Aaliyah, Wyatt, Skylar and Rai Lynn. Other survivors include his mother, Blanche; his brothers and 1 sister, many nieces, nephews and good friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom and his brother, Harry Gilliland.
