Thomas K Stauffer

Thomas “Tom” Kirk Stauffer, 59, of Mahomet passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 at home. Tom was born October 24, 1958 in Mahomet.

He was a lifelong resident of Mahomet, where he worked for thirty years as a roofer.

He is survived by his mother, Sara J. Stauffer of Mahomet; two children, Jason Stauffer of Mahomet and Kaitlyn (Cody) Tucker of Sherman; and one grandchild, Easton Tucker. He also leaves behind three siblings, Sandra (Jeff) McKinney-Cardiff of Loda, Joni (Mark) Wittler and Bradly Stauffer, both of Mahomet.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Stauffer Sr. and brother, Charles “Rick” Stauffer Jr.

Tom never knew a stranger. He was known for his infectious smile and friendly personality. He had a passion for fishing, he loved his children dearly, and was proud to be a first time Grandpa. He enjoyed spending time at the family cabin and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

There will be a visitation on Monday, Nov 6 from 4-6 pm at Owens Funeral Home (101 N. Elm St, Champaign). The funeral service will be on Tuesday, Nov 7 at 10am at the funeral home with Rev. Lutz Braunig officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
