Richard Mark Kruidenier, a longtime resident of Urbana, Illinois, passed away on March 10th, 2019 at the age of 63. He passed away from complications related to Multiple Sclerosis.
The youngest of six boys, Richard was born on February 13th, 1956. He was raised in Urbana and graduated Urbana High School. He continued on to the University of Illinois where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology. He later moved to Colorado where he spent the majority of his time in woodworking.
Richard worked tirelessly to support his family through his work at Genesis Innovations, a woodworking and carpentry company. In his free time, he loved to explore the mountains of Colorado and was an avid fan of music. That love of music is being carried on in his sons to this very day. In the later stages of his life, Richard showed enormous perseverance and strength as he battled MS for nearly two decades. His dedication to his family and kindness to others was clear to anyone he encountered. He was able to maintain a positive attitude throughout a challenging process that continues to serve as an inspiration to those close to him.
Richard will be deeply missed by his three sons Lukas (31), James Bastian (28), and Christopher (26) as well as his former wife Rachel (63). Richard is survived by five brothers Bastian, John, James, Daniel and William as well as loving sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, long-time friends, and staff and residents of the Champaign County Nursing Home. He is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Hermenia.
A reception is being held at 720 S New Street Champaign, IL on March 12th at 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
