August 25, 1952 ~ August 19, 2017 (age 64) 64 Years Old
Dick Clow passed away at The Villas at Garden View Manor on Saturday (Aug. 19, 2017) of complications from esophageal cancer.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, with Dr. Keith Warner officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign.
He was born on Aug. 25, 1952, in Champaign to Curtis and Mary (Wilson) Clow. His parents preceded him in death.
Dick is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Reifsteck-Clow, his beloved Shih Tzu Teddy, very dear friends Dennis and Becky Phillips and Sherrie Davis. Dick is also survived by two sisters, four nieces and one nephew.
Dick's career of 48 years was in automotive parts, which took him from Champaign to Orland Park and finally to Danville as parts director for Courtesy Auto Group.
Dick was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears and The Fighting Illini. He enjoyed playing Little League as a boy and bowling and golf as an adult.
Dick also enjoyed life. It didn't matter how bad his day may be, he always had a smile on his face and an upbeat attitude. He loved to make people laugh and smile.
Dick has requested casual dress at his services.
