Phyllis R Spencer

Phyllis R. Spencer, 67, passed away on Saturday (Nov. 25, 2017) in Champaign.

She was the proud mother of Melissa (John) Stanis and Steve (Tammy) Spencer, and loving grandmother to Spencer and Saphira Stanis and Hailey Spencer.

Phyllis grew up in Allerton and spent most of her adult life in Oakwood and Danville. She was retired from the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System in Danville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and LuluBelle Jones, and her sister, Carolyn Jones.

She is survived by her siblings, Kathy (Jeff) Stewart and John (Doris) Jones II; her two nieces, Kristine Benton and Stacey Erdman; and her grandnephew, Ryan Benton.

A life celebration will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2, at Blair-Owens Funeral Home, 102 E. Dunbar, Mahomet, at 2 p.m., with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery in Perrysville, Ind., and will be private.
