Phyllis L (Arie) Hites

Phyllis L. Hites, 83, of Champaign, previously of Mahomet, died on Monday evening, October 16, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 10-11 am at Blair-Owens Funeral Home, Mahomet. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.

Phyllis was born on Sept. 19, 1934 in Urbana; a daughter of Charles and Bertha (Lunsway) Arie. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lois Collier.

She is survived by her 2 children, Cindy (John) Pickett of Champaign and Steve (Cindy) Hites of Mahomet; 3 grandchildren, Victoria (John) Head of Champaign, Jackie (Brandon) Sweet of CA and Bryce Hites of Fisher and 6 great-grandchildren, Adam and Kaylee Head; Alex, Gabe and Chloe Sweet and Jaxon Hites. She also leaves behind the many children that she babysat through the years, especially dear to her heart were Leah and David Griffin.

Phyllis was an active member of Mahomet Christian Church and loved her church family. She also enjoyed playing BINGO and getting pampered at her hair and nail appointments.
