Orville L. Greenarch

Orville L. Greenarch, 83, "teddy bear" passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at his home.

Orville was born on Sept. 18, 1933, in Goose Creek Township, Piatt County, Ill. He married Ruth Becker on Nov. 18, 1950. She preceded him in death on Sept. 3, 2011.

He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie (Keith) Henry of Urbana and a son, Brian Greenarch of Urbana; a grandson, Ryan Henry of Urbana and granddaughters, Stephanie (Erik) Compton of Westfield, Ind., and Katherine Henry of Champaign; two great-grandchildren, Kallie and Quinn Compton; a sister, Mag Summers of Monticello; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Greenarch of White Heath.

He was preceded in death by son, Ronnie, and three brothers and five sisters.

Orville worked for Clifford and Jacobs for 41 years. He was a member with American Legion Post 24, Champaign, for over 40 years.

A graveside memorial service will held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Sadorus Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Deborah Owen officiating. A memorial gathering with the family will follow at 4 p.m. at the American Legion on Bloomington Road.
