Mary E. Williams, 93, of Fisher died on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City, IL.
There will be a visitation on Monday, January 15, at River Valley Church of Christ, 17 Owlcreek Lane, Fisher, from 11am-1pm. The funeral service will begin at 1pm at the church. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery, Mahomet. Blair-Owens Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mary was born on May 10, 1924 in Mansfield; a daughter of James Willard and Valerie (Farthing) Stauffer. She married Oliver Williams on April 20, 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son-in-law, Randy Kerns; 1 sister, Genevieve Ronk; 2 brothers, Bill Stauffer and Richard Stauffer and 1 great-grandson.
She is survived by her 5 children; Leon (Violet) Williams of Fisher, Dave (Janet) Williams of Fisher, Diane (Melvin) Goodman of St. Joseph, Lynn (Carolyn) Williams of Urbana and Mary (late Randy) Kerns of Fisher; 17 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.
Mary worked at Collegiate Cap and Gown as an inspector for 25 years, earning her retirement in 1990. She was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, having attended there since childhood. She enjoyed quilting and lighthouses. Mary also loved to travel and was proud that she had visited 48 of the United States and Israel, twice. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Mary's family would like to thank her caregivers for everything that they did for Mary.
