Mary A Maier

Mary A. Maier, loving mother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday (Jan. 7, 2018).

Mary Maier was born Oct. 3, 1918, in Champaign County, daughter of Raymond Babb and Elsie Irle Babb. She married Bernard Maier on Jan. 17, 1940.

Mary is survived by her son, Gene Maier of Champaign; her daughter, Theresa Rose of Kansas; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, her three brothers, her only sister and her one grandson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign.  The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 10) at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 403 W. Clark St., Champaign, with the Rev. Father Joseph Donton officiating. Burial will be at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Thomasboro.

Mary Maier was a farm owner in Champaign County and attended Holy Cross Church for more than 50 years.

Memorials may be made to The High School of St. Thomas More or the charity of the donor's choice.
