Marjorie E Lange

Marjorie Ellen (Keagle) Lange, loving spouse of David F. Lange, Jr (deceased), departed this life on Thursday, November 22, 2018 while under hospice care at the Piatt County Nursing home. She was 86 years old.

Marjorie was born on January 26, 1932 to her parents William and Ina Keagle. She is the fourth of five children.  She was preceded in death by her siblings Ralph, Virginia (infant), and Ruth. Her brother, C. R. Keagle survives along with his wife, Phyllis in Monticello.

Marjorie was a life-long resident of the Champaign area. She graduated from Central High School  and married David, her husband in December 1953.  To their union were born two children, Beverly and David. 

Marjorie worked at the University of Illinois -Illini Union – as an administrative assistant for many years. She loved the Cubs, gardening, mowing and caring for her lawn. She shared with her spouse a great fondness for sports. She also loved her family and extended family. She belonged to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Her husband, David, preceded her in death in January 2000.  Since then, Marjorie has taken consolation in her children and their spouses as well as her grandchildren and  friends: Marjorie’s surviving children are: the Rev. Beverly (Lange) Donnella and her spouse,  the Rev. Dr. Joseph A. Donnella of Pennsylvania; Mr. David B. Lange and his spouse, Mrs. Sarah Wheeler Lange of Wisconsin. 

In addition to her children, Marjorie is also survived by 3 grandchildren – Michael J. Lange, and his fiancée, Ellie Thomas; and Andrew J. Lange and friend, Haddie Maier, and Meghan Lange.  

Owens Funeral Home will conduct a visitation on Monday, Nov. 26 from 10-11 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2102 S. Prospect, Champaign. The funeral service will begin at 11 am at the church with Rev. Tom Hillerts officiating. Burial will be at Prairieview Cemetery, Savoy.
