Karen Ann Kuhns

Karen Ann Kuhns, 72, of Mahomet passed away on Friday evening (Sept. 1, 2017) at Presence Covenant Medical Center, after a 10-year battle with cancer.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Blair-Owens Funeral Home, 102 E. Dunbar Road, Mahomet. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Blair-Owens, followed by a brief graveside service at Grandview Memorial Gardens.

She was born July 1, 1945, daughter of Earl and Anna (Bunting) Scarbrough and grew up in Bondville. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Kuhns. They were married on June 26, 1964, and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She is also survived by her children, Maria Ehmann of Champaign, Hope (Aaron) Wheeler of Mahomet and Terry (Meegan )Kuhns of Fisher.

She was proceeded in death by her brother, Darrell Scarbrough.

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, Amanda, Brendan, Nolan, Trenton, Nathan, Ashley and Quinn. She rarely missed one of their sporting, musical or academic events and took pictures at every single one of them. She was an avid bird watcher. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. She spent hours scrapbooking all of the family photos she took. She attended a weekly Bible study at New Horizon Church and looked forward to her daily emails with best friend, Pat.
