Jack Ray Holderer, 76, of Mahomet, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 12, after a courageous battle with ALS. Jack will be lovingly missed by his wife of 52 years, Deborah, along with his children, Lisa Ervin of Monticello, Tim (Lisa) Holderer of Edwardsville and Jack H. (Grace) Holderer of Alhambra, CA. He will also be missed by his 5 grandsons; Andrew and Evan Holderer, Nicholas and Noah Ervin, Christian Holderer and 1 granddaughter, Olivia Ervin. He is also survived by his only sister, Marsha Holderer of Sarasota, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Genny VanNote Holderer. He attended Southern Illinois University. He was employed by the University of Illinois, and retired from there. He was also a member of Mahomet Christian Church.
Visitation will be Friday, June 15 from 5-7 pm at Blair-Owens Funeral Home, 102 E. Dunbar, Mahomet. The funeral will be on Saturday, June 16 at 10 am at the Mahomet Christian Church, 908 N. Lake of the Woods Rd, Mahomet. Burial will immediately follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
