George Scopel Obituary

George W. Scopel died on February 9 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana, Illinois. His three sons were at his bedside at the time of his death.

George was born on August 27, 1931 in Litchfield, Illinois, to Ardino P. Scopel and Mildred (Eckman) Scopel. George graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He married Josephine Ingrando on November 20, 1954. Together, they had three children.

George was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine. He is survived by three sons, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. George was a dearly beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by family and his many friends.

Funeral services will be private.
