Dora (Rasner) Clemons

Dora Dean (Rasner) Clemons, 90, of Champaign passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the Champaign County Nursing Home.

Dora was born on February 1, 1927 in Tompkinsville, KY to Ranzy and Ivy Rasner. She married Ralph Clemons on January 10, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1992.

Dora was a waitress for more than 40 years. She worked at the Chuck Wagon, Hickory Hill Country Club, Western Bowl Branding Iron and Champaign Country Club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Savoy and the VFW Auxiliary in Champaign.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Lou (Stan) Harvey of Tolono and son Steve (Kathie) Clemons of Champaign. Grandchildren: Tom (Lara) Shields of Pensacola, FL, Jim (Susi) Shields of Camarillo, CA, Christopher (Lauren) Clemons of Geneva, IL, and Lauren Clemons of Gifford, IL, and eight great-grandchildren. Sister: Lea Roberts of FL, and brothers: Dewey Lee Rasner and Louis Rasner of IN.

She was preceded in death by one daughter: Delores, five brothers: Hughie Rasner, Bill Rasner, Don Rasner, Ranzy Rasner, Jr., and Morris Rasner. Three sisters: Dorothy Pitchford, Katheryn Ronk, and Doris Rasner.

Funeral services will held Thursday, August 3, at 1:30 pm at Owens Funeral Home, 101 North Elm Street, Champaign, with the visitation one hour prior to services (12:30-1:30 pm). Father David Rasner will be officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
