Donna Grace Buzicky, 70, of Mahomet passed away Sunday (May 13, 2018) at The Waterford at Briddle Brook, Mahomet, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.
Donna was born April 13, 1948, in Glencoe, Minn., the daughter of Donald and Ardith (Peterson) Berry. Donna graduated from the Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School and received her bachelor's degree from Hamline University, St. Paul, Minn. It was there where she met Richard Buzicky. They were married Aug. 29, 1970. He survives.
Other survivors include three sons, James (Paulette Sullivan), Jeffrey (Michelle) and Michael (Stacey); and eight grandchildren, Madison, Chloe, Mason, Mya, Hannah and Luke and Josh and Joey Sullivan.
She was preceded in death by both parents.
Donna spent most of her adult years as a mother and grandmother, working part time primarily in the social services field. One of her favorite positions was working with the GCAP Organization in Champaign.
She was an active volunteer with Mahomet Helping Hands and a longtime member of Mahomet Town and Country Women's Club. Donna was a member of Mahomet United Methodist Church.
There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Mahomet United Methodist Church, 1302 E. South Mahomet Road, with a memorial service at noon. Interment will be private at a later date. All are invited to join the family after the service for lunch and fellowship at the church.
Donna's family would like to thank the many friends who helped out through her illness with rides, lunches and loving companionship. Also, a special thanks for the loving care received from the staff at Bridle Brook.
