Donald Elliott

Donald Elliott, formerly of Mahomet, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home, Mattoon, IL.

 Don was born January 9, 1930, to Clifford and Dorothy (Denton) Elliott. He is preceded in death by his parents and companion Marilyn Cramer.

 He is survived by his two daughters; Denise (Joel) McDearmon and Stacey (Steve Warters) Elliott. 

 Don attended Mahomet Schools and lived in Champaign County most of his life. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War and later in the reserves. He retired from the University of Illinois in 1999 after over 25 years in horticulture. Don loved farming and cars.

 The visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am on Thursday August 29 at Owens Funeral Home (101 N. Elm St.) in Champaign.  The funeral will immediately follow at 11:00am.  The Rev. Lutz Braunig will officiate.  Interment will be at Mt. Hope Mausoleum in Champaign.  Military burial rites will be accorded by Mahomet American Legion Post #1015.  

 Memorials can be made to The A.W.O.O.F., Animals without Owners Fund or the American Legion.
