Cheryl Lynn Baker

Cheryl Lynn Baker died at 2:07 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at home in Indianapolis.

In accordance with family wishes, she will be cremated, and friends may greet the family from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign. Burial will be private.

Cheryl was born Sept. 23, 1959, in Urbana, a daughter of Fred and Jean (Gamache) Baker.

Survivors include her mother, Jean Baker of Champaign; brother, Mark Baker of Champaign; sister, Beth Baker of Savoy; and several nieces and nephews, Ryan Baker, Kristen (Tony) Hillen, Heather Shelmadine and Amanda Shelmadine.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Baker, who died May 13, 2005.

Cheryl graduated from Central High School in 1977. She was a people person and never met a stranger. She became a "walking encylopedia" of music, TV and movie trivia. She loved animals and especially her cat, Bella.
