Carole Couch

Carole Couch, 80, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 8:29pm in the loving company of her family at Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello. She was preceded in death by her sister, Emily Johnson (Peters), her mother, Jesse Peters (Tieman) and her father, Gus Peters and a nephew, Timothy Johnson, whom she loved very much.

Carole was born in Paxton on Dec. 9, 1937; she came to Champaign in the late 1950's. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Klein (Mark) and her son, James Walker; granddaughter, Chrissy Tyler (Randy); grandson, Christopher Walker and several great grandchildren.

She had a long career at the University of IL and retired as a supervisor of the duplicating room at the Department of Architecture. Carole had many friends in the department; faculty, staff and the students. Briefly after retirement, she continued working part time for a friend at his Architecture firm.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, garage sales and shopping. She also loved fishing and sports. Carole made many memories going to the Illini football games with her daughter and watching her Chicago Cubs baseball.

Carole will be dearly missed but her happy spirit will live on in our hearts forever.

There will be a graveside funeral service on Friday, March 16 at 11:00 am at Pontoppidan Cemetery in Elliott, where she will be laid to rest with her family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Piatt County Nursing Home for their love and care given to Carole.
